Initial conversations are very experience based, some level of technical screening, etc. The final, more formally structured interviews are behavior based (STAR) type questions. You will usually meet with the recruiter first, who may have some technical background, but most likely will be just listening for key words that you say when you describe your current position, your background, or your interests in the job. Be sure to have read the job description, and come with some questions you can ask. The initial recruiter may not have the answer, but if you match with the job, you'll probably go to the next phone screen with the hiring manager where you can ask those more in-depth questions.
