I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lenovo in Jan 2022
Interview
Initial screening call with internal recruiter that was about 20 minutes long and then interview with two peers was arranged for the following week lasting around 45 minutes.
Interview itself seemed ok, literally didn't want to know anything other than what were the worse things I had to deal with and what my KPIs were. Huge HR/Personnel focus and clearly looking for someone to come in and address an immediate issue.
Then this is where things went bad. Having literally no feedback for a week and a half, I chased the recruiter to obtain an update. Was told it would be the end of the following week. The deadline came and went and only at the point of reaching out again (the day after a full three weeks had passed from the interview) I'm told I was unsuccessful eventhough I had strong experience. Not a great impression of Lenovo in the slightest.

Question 1
What has been the most complex HR situation you have had to deal with?
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Lenovo in Dec 2020
Interview
It was a non-pressure interview. Everyone was well behaved and professional. They had not gone through my CV before that. Praised me during the interview which boosted my confidence. The interview was mainly based on the HR questions.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lenovo in Oct 2021
Interview
I applied online and received an email about setting up an interview. I interviewed with the COO and could tell I wasn't what he was looking for. My experience didn't quite match up with the role. That was all fine, but he made an offhand comment that has stuck with me. He said something about not wanting to deal with people escalating things after they report a problem. The way it was said and the way he kind of backpedaled afterwards gave me the impression that if you reported a concern to him, he was going to do his best to either sweep it under the rug or convince you that it's been taken care of because he doesn't want to deal with the hassle of sending it up to the next level. Big red flag.
Even then, that didn't quite turn the interview experience into a negative. What really made it negative is that I never heard a yes or no. I assumed I didn't get the job after some time had passed. Then I got a survey from a recruiter who I had never worked with to give feedback about my recruiting and interview experience. The recruiter had never had any contact with me. The name wasn't in any of the emails I was sent. I had no idea who this person was.
I do not want to work for a company like this.
