I was met by the area manager and store manager who were running 10 minutes late and gave me a tour of the store while giving a little information about Lidl and asking a little about my current role.
I felt from the interview that they didn't think I was capable of the job. They made out that Lidl was this incredibly fast-paced, demanding environment to work in that is like no other. They obviously hadn't properly looked at my application before to see that I was very used to working in similar environments. The lack of preparation on their behalf was disappointing and unprofessional.
I was also taken aback by the patronising tone of one of the interviewers. He kept basically asking me if I'd properly considered the role. He asked if I knew the wage and the contracted hours, why I hadn't applied to another store, and how this job would compare to my current role financially because "we all have bills to pay". I'm not stupid. I wouldn't apply for a role and attend an interview without fully researching a company and the role and I don't appreciate the tone of the interviewer, which some may see as trying to belittle interviewees.
I haven't received any communication from Lidl since, but if I was offered the position, I would reject it.
