Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Halifax, England) in Oct 2022
Interview
Firstly they gave me pen and paper and was asked to walk around the store and say positives and negatives.
And then they asked me interview questions, mostly scenario based questions.
As long as you prepare some anecdotes and experiences you have had, it’s fine.

Question 1
They asked me if I’d ever had to deal with a difficult situation at work and how I dealt with it?
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.

Why Lidl?
What hours can you do?
Where can you see yourself working in the shop?
