I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Plymouth, England)
Interview
Applied online. After 3 weeks got an email inviting me to a group interview in store with the area manager. The area manager was busy and I was the only one who turned up so I interviewed alone with the store manager and two deputies. They gave a short presentation on the company and the role and then asked some questions about my CV, interests etc. Then we did a short role play. Later that day I had a call from the area manager to go for a work trial at another store. I tidied up some stock for 15 minutes and spoke briefly to the store manager about hours. The next day he called me and offered me the job.

Question 1
What would you say was your greatest strength?
How would you cope doing one task for an extended period of time?
How would you respond to a complaint about your service?
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
