I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lidl (Plymouth, England) in May 2016
Interview
Started off by applying online, after a day I got a email informing me to attend a group interview. Went to the interview was very laid back and formal got introduced as a group to lidl and what we can expect from them.
Then one by one we had to describe ourselves to them ( only a brief introduction). Then we had to wait outside room and fill out 2 forms one a numeracy test and another personality test.
One by one we got called in and interviewed. 2 hours later I got a call inviting me to a work trial 2 days later. Went to the work trial introduced myself again to the area manager, he got me to de card the chiller section and pull forward stock.
1 week later I got a phone call and offered the job.
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.

Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
