Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (London, England) in Jun 2018
Interview
Applied online and then received an e-mail an hour later asking me to complete an online assessment, received a phone call from the store manager a couple of weeks later to arrange an interview with her and the assistant.
You are on shift with 1 other person who is serving on a till. There's no milk out, something has been spilled on the floor creating a puddle, and there is a queue of customers at the till. What do you do?
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
