I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Lidl (London, England) in Sep 2020
Interview
Online questions/test as part of application.
Received an email asking me to call a number for a short telephone interview. This was brief and an interview was arranged in a store.
The atmosphere in the interview was odd, disinterested, not very friendly and quite unwelcoming. Various questions (what do you think is different about Lidl compared to other supermarkets, scenarios etc), then a walk around the store listing good and bad points you spot.
Was told I'd hear back in a week or so, after all the other interviews were done.
Interview was around half an hour (10 mins of which was the walk around store).
Received an email early the next day informing me I wasn't being considered further.

Question 1
Are you happy working on checkouts, taking deliveries and cleaning
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
