Filled out the online application and then had to complete the online assessments. A lot of work to then get an automated email saying they're not taking it forward. I have a far amount of customer assistant questions, good GCSEs and think I answered the questions well, not sure what you need to do to get to the next stage.

Question 1
Maths questions, would you give the customer who claims they were given the wrong change the money or open a new till and do a change count
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
