I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Dundalk) in Sep 2017
Interview
I applied directly to Lidl, completed an online assessment and was invited to an interview a couple of weeks later. The interview was with the manager of the location I would have been based in and an HR staff member from Lidl HQ. The store manager was dressed very casually, in a t-shirt and jeans, and the HR guy was in a suit. The interview itself was fine, as far as interviews go it was quite relaxed. I was told that someone from the HR team would follow up with me within 2 weeks to let me know if I had been successful or not. I didn't hear from them so in the 3rd week I contacted them and was told that they were still deliberating and someone would be in touch in a week or so. Nobody ever contacted me.
I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Lidl (Shoreham-by-Sea, England) in Oct 2019
Interview
standard retail questions followed by an excercise on the shop floor. we were given a clipboard and had to look around giving good and bad points. its well worth having a look around the store before your interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Falmouth, England) in Aug 2018
Interview
Online application test and then invited for a short in store interview which was very relaxed and short, asked questions about what experience I've had and why I wanted to work at lidl.
