I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Lidl (Cork) in Mar 2011
Interview
Well to be honest, I was never actually properly interviewed. I went in expecting it to be tough, but she told me that I had the job and this is what I would be doing.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (Great Yarmouth, , , England) in Jul 2013
Interview
Go on the Lidl website, then careers, then look at the vacancies. Fill in the form and upload a CV. I was notified within a week of application that I was to be interviewed.
I turned up at the store in a suit. This is important at a place like Lidl as appearance is everything! They ask you a few questions about yourself and the main one that they ask to catch you out is "Why Lidl?". Make up your own answer for this and prepare for it because it WILL be asked.
I was then asked to attend a work trial which is basically stacking some shelves for 20/30 mins. I smashed a jar of mustard on mine but I still got the job. I was called the next day explaining that they wanted me. I then attended my first shift where they asked me for my sizes for uniform, to fill in the contracts and to do all the necessary paperwork for pay etc.

Question 1
As I said earlier, the hardest question to answer is the "Why Lidl?" question. This is designed to put you on the spot. You need to prepare for this question in advance otherwise you probably will feel awkward and this is where they say yes or no to employment.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl
Interview
After handing in a CV into the store an interview was arranged a week or so later to see the district manager. Before my interview I had a half an hour work trial where I just put stock out. The interview process was very basic and asked usual customer service based questions and questions about my CV. After the interview, which lasted about an hour I was shown around the store to learn about some of the store procedures.
