I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lowe's Home Improvement (Salina, KS) in Nov 2009
Interview
I was called back after the first interview with Lowe's to complete a mandatory drug test and other computer based testing. I recieved a phone call a few days later saying I got the job and they would call me in for training once they had selected a few more people so they could train us all together. They never called back, and when I called to find out when I could start, they would never return my phone calls.

Interview
They told me that the interview 3 people for every opening. They said interview questions were graded and given points and best interview would get the job. All the questions were about previous experience in sales. I interviewed at three different stores and have 20 years in sales and didn't get the job. I believe that in today's economy, referred friends get the job and if you're not referred, you are just one of the other two other people they interview for the sake of interviewing three people. How they hire people out of high school or others without sales experience is beyond me. Those with no experience cannot answer the questions they ask. Bottom line is the interview process is a joke and there seems to be discrimination due to the phony hiring process. Also, every job I interviewed for was not the job I applied for. Be prepared to be turned down if you're not connected.
