I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Macy's (Chicago, IL) in Aug 2020
Interview
It was all done over the phone because of covid. Typical interview questions. Asked to recall specific job related things and relate them to the position applying for. She was very nice and made the interview feel natural.

I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Moreno Valley, CA) in May 2018
Interview
I applied to Macy's back in 2018 in Moreno Valley, CA. I had the most traumatic interview experience that I decided to write a review. Right away when the hiring manager came out to shake my hand she gave me a dead fish. Which is already a bad sign but I stayed positive. She then proceeds to ask me very simple questions that I gave her my prepared answers. One thing I thought was strange was that she was writing my answers down word-for-word. Then as I would speak she would interrupt me and ask me to repeat myself again. I am looking at her smiling and she hasn't even looked at me. I can't help but feel discriminated against since it seems I haven't even got the job before she even began asking me questions. In the end, she thanks me and says she will get back to me that night about an offer. Of course, I have been ghosted by this employer. It has been a long time but that woman changed my perspective on a lot and not for the better!
I applied online. I interviewed at Macy's (Milwaukee, WI) in Nov 2020
Interview
It was very pleasant, and I am moving on to my second interview. They ask basic questions like what would you do in X situation with a customer. And the questions pertain gto customer and product knowledge in the beauty industry. I have been invited for a second interview and look forward to it.
