I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Medtronic
Interview
Lengthy. 12 weeks. They wasted my valuable time essentially. Made me go through multiple rounds with reps, hiring managers, district manager, etc. had me drive an hour and a half away for in person interviews when they know you have another full time job in the middle of the day. Only point of contact was the HM and was awful at responding and setting up interviews. No recruiter or HR was in the process. Basically thought I had the job as I made it to the last round with the VP of the region and was told they only do that to one candidate, told me I’d hear back in a week with the decision. Never heard back for 2 weeks so I emailed twice and finally got a call saying they had to go with an “internal hire” because it was being pushed on them hard. If you are going to know you’re hiring an internal candidate don’t drag an external candidate through the mud for 12 weeks and giving them false hope. This has happened twice to me for different divisions with Medronic. It’s a great company with great products but they need serious help with their interview process and how to treat candidates.

Question 1
Tell me about your background and why you want to work here
Hiring manager was not friendly. I entered the interview feeling confident and ready to get to know the company more, however left the interview feeling like I was talked down on. If I were offered the role, I don't think I would've taken it given the stressful and negative tension I felt in the interview.
They ask about resume for the first interview then during the second they ask about EE fundamentals. Very nice group of interviewers who take their time. Details of experience important.
