I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medtronic in Jun 2018
Interview
2 months after applying through an employee referral, I was called for a web interview with two managers (scheduled 4 days from when I was called). The questions were more related on how you would handle situations with difficult people. They were also looking for someone who would stay in the position for a long time and not move up. I was looking to grow within the company, and they didn't seem to like that answer. It was a difficult interview, and I feel the best way to prepare is to prepare tons of examples of when you've handled various conflicts, especially when it comes to working with difficult people. They used "diverse personalities" so that can translate to difficult or just culturally different since Medtronic is an international company.

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Medtronic (San Antonio, TX) in Apr 2018
Interview
Spoke with an internal recruiter, then was asked to come onsite for an in person interview. After that I had a final phone interview and received the job offer within a few days. Very straightforward interview process! During my onsite interview I was interviewed by 2 current managers and they asked if I was familiar with the STAR format because that’s how they wanted their questions answered (nice of them, especially if someone hasn’t interviewed for awhile). The only difficult part was one of the interviewers wasn’t very personable but at the end she lightened up, so that made me feel like I gained her approval!
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Medtronic (Tampa, FL) in Mar 2018
Interview
Had a contact there who connected me to a local District Service Manager who had an open position. They paid for a hotel stay since it was 4+ hours away, had a 45 minute interview the next morning. Very intimidation-based, i.e. this is harder than anything you've ever done. When I tried to relate it back to personal experiences, I was told " you have no idea what you're talking about, and this will be the hardest thing you will ever do." They were referring to the one year of training, even though I have an engineering background and demonstrated I was up for the challenge. Overall they didn't learn very much about me, and it was the only round of interviews they used to choose a candidate. Very disappointing, everyone else I have met there has been great.
