I applied online. I interviewed at Medtronic (Irvine, CA) in Feb 2017
Interview
I had applied for 39 Medtronic positions specifically before getting a c HR level call. 1st round was with HR and they asked the general basic questions. I was well prepared including details about the division, stock market, company acquisitions, products, impact to society, how i fit best for the role, why i am the best candidate, salary expectations. The HR touched upon almost all of these plus few questions like : Why medtronic, why quality ? where do you see yourself in 5 years? Why should we hire you? why are you looking for a change?relocation? Specific resume questions on a high level. This was followed by a Round 2 with hiring manager. I sent HR thank you email and was immediately asked for dates for next round. Here more in depth details about all my work experiences was asked. I was asked technical questions related to my work. Lasted for about one hour. Sent a thank you email and in one week heard back from the HR about on site interview. A team of 5 interviewers (management level 4, senior engineer 1) conducted interviews. The interviewers mainly covered technical experience, scenario questions, brainstorming with team. I would rate the difficulty level as 3/5. I was able to answer all the questions . The interview was held on a Friday and I heard back on Monday that they are ready to hire me.
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Medtronic (Louisville, KY) in May 2017
Interview
The interview process was extremely time consuming. In all, there were 8 interviews, including 3 phone, 3 face to face (panel and 1 on 1) , and Gallup. I made it to the final and
interview but did not get the job. The lengthy process seemed extreme for the position and the compensation.
