Interview
I had a great experience in my interview with Continuous Glucose Monitoring team at Northridge-CA. I had multiple 1:1 interview sessions and a presentation. The interview team provided a friendly and calm atmosphere for my interview. Hiring manger and team provided enough information about the position and my responsibilty in the team.

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Medtronic (Minneapolis, MN)
Interview
Skype interview with developer on team followed by onsite involving 3 rounds of interview. After the interview I received an email 2 days later saying the team really liked my skills and wanted to bring me on board. 2 weeks later I get a call from the recruiter saying they want to bring me onboard but are still sorting out a few internal moves. Almost a month later 1 reveive an email from the recruiter saying they are looking for someone with a slightly different skillset and decided to go with another candidate. This is the most ridiculous interview process I have ever been through at a company and cannot imagine actually working for such employers!

Mostly past experience and how I reacted to in various situations. It was more situation based than technical. Not sure how they actually decide on hiring Principal SDEs based on questions like these
I submitted my resume for a position and was contacted the next day by a recruiter. The recruiter didn't know all of the information about the position, and in fact gave me incorrect information.
A couple weeks later I did a phone interview with the hiring manager.
A couple weeks later I did an in person interview with 4 people, including the hiring manager. They use the STAR (situation, task, activity, result) approach to interviewing. They assign each interviewer a section to focus on like "leadership", and they ask you to "explain a time when...", then you need to give the action that you did, and describe the results. If you want to be sure you do well at this, make sure you google the STAR approach ahead of time to understand what they are looking for.
I was offered the position without any signing bonus, without any additional weeks of vacation (3 weeks to start).
