I applied online. I interviewed at Meta in Mar 2024
Interview
Product sense question: Design a volunteer product. The key here is to define where you're building it and why (I said within Facebook.com event section), discuss the mission, goal, North Star metric, competitors, industry etc. Then dive into users and prioritize based on reach and impact. Walk through user journey and brainstorm pain points and feature ideas. Discuss which feature you would prioritize based on RICE (reach, impact, eng effort). Discuss how you would measure success.
Analytical question: Define the mission, goals and metrics for Instagram Reels and a Video conferencing app like Zoom (I had two of these interviews - they asked me to redo the first one). Follow a similar structure to the product sense question, except the meat of this question will be some solid North Star metrics and counter metrics. They'll also ask a tradeoff question as a follow-up.
Interview process was fairly straightforward. Recruiters are super helpful in getting you prepared for whats to come. Interviews got scheduled fairly fast, so having the momentum is great. Each interview only lasted about 30 minutes. from start to finish it took about 1 month
A multi-stage interview process that typically includes screening, technical and/or case assessments, and conversations with different stakeholders to evaluate both your skills and how well you’d work with the team and the role.
Multiple rounds across product, engineering, and business leaders. Long cycle and many situational questions..."how would you respond.." many questions about specific prior experiences in handling challenges, frictions, leadership. Be prepared for lengthy process
