The interview process at Meta was frustrating and felt poorly coordinated. After waiting through a long gap in communication, I was scheduled for an initial 30-minute recruiter call, which I assumed meant my profile had been reviewed and aligned with the role.
I spent a full week preparing, especially for behavioral questions, only to be told within the first five minutes of the call that they were actually looking for someone more senior. This was surprising, as my experience and level are clearly reflected in my resume.
It felt like there was little to no upfront screening or alignment before scheduling the call. Sharing this earlier would have saved a significant amount of time and effort.
Overall, the experience highlighted a lack of coordination and consideration for candidates’ time.
