I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Meta (New York, NY) in Aug 2024
Interview
referral to job listing which I think is crucial. I then had a recruiter screen. first formal interview experience is called a screening loop. 2-3 rounds, one analytical, one product sense. Final interview loop, 3 rounds: product sense, analytical, leadership/behavioral.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
prompt based case study questions similar to what you find on prep websites. you are unable to prepare in advance.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Meta in Jan 2025
Interview
Recruiter was very transactional. Really quick calls to just inform me what the next steps are.
Typical FAANG design/analytics questions that you can somewhat practice for. Interviewers were all PM's across different teams/locations so you won't necessarily be working with them.
Tell me about a time you received tough feedback, tell me about a time you made an impact on the business, tell me about a time you had to resolve conflict
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in Jan 2025
Interview
The process has been described ad nauseam elsewhere. A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, we had the initial conversation (she was late, texted me 2 minutes into the call). Seemed to be more of a check mark/red flag discussion. Next steps (scheduling Analytical and Product Sense interviews) moved fairly quickly - dates offered less than 2 weeks out which worked for me).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Product Sense was fairly straightforward - how would you build a parking product for Google Maps. I've seen several prep videos on the topic which may have actually been a disadvantage - I really like the idea of building a marketplace to rent out driveways/garages for short term parking in cities where parking is sparse. Pretty sure my interviewer has also seen them; he seemed to be disappointed we were moving slow (I felt we were on track), but did not rush/interrupt unnecessarily. Not sure what his thoughts were.
For the "analytical" interview, the interviewer showed up 7 minutes late, told me he would interrupt frequently, and presented this gem: "You are the Product Manager for Facebook Events - what do you do?"
