I was contacted by a recruiter from a third party that was supporting Facebook. The first screening call with the recruiter took one hour and I was moved forward in the process and scheduled 3 video calls with hiring managers. I would say the first and second interviews with hiring managers were good and I felt they really were interested in my experience. The last interview was very disappointing, the first thing I heard is that he had a hard stop to jump on another call. He was not genuinely interested in my interview. Long story short, I had to chase the recruiter to get a final decision that did not come before than two weeks.
I don’t blame the recruiter in this process since it seems like she only comply to processes and has zero influence in any decision making. What I got from the process, and specially after reviewing the Linked In profile of people currently at Facebook in the same position I was interviewed for, is that the company as other in the US, just use the flag of diversity to get into the trend and looks cool. This process made me feel that there is no room for minorities in the company, no matter if it is because of your color, your age or nationality. Employees have the same background, basically a white young dude or girl and lots of them with none to almost none relevant experience, even though it is required by the job description.
