Recruiter call went through questions related to the hiring process.
Screening call was to select an app, and asked different questions based on different scenarios. Most questions were technical and hypothetical. Focused on the validity of the collected data.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What to do if you need to extend deadline?
How to prove the selected users are the right ones?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Meta in Jan 2022
Interview
30 minute HR Screening - HR person called up 5 minutes late, spent 10 minutes searching for my information in the system, apologized, then verified the job I had applied for. Quickly went through a questionnaire where I ranked my quantitative skills. Discussed past experiences briefly.
45 min technical interview - the interviewer (a team member) called up 3 minutes late, which is fine, but showed little enthusiasm from the beginning. Asked me to walk through a UXR scenario in a non-FB app of my choice. I gave the app, the interviewer asked a basic question how to test user satisfaction. Interviewer was yawning.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Meta (London, England) in Mar 2022
Interview
A recruitment agent reached out to me regarding a role with Meta, working on the VR workrooms app. I managed to secure an initial interview date quite quickly.
The first interview didn't go ahead because the zoom link was broken (I had no way of knowing this ahead of time). It was impossible to reach anyone and it was annoying as I set time out of the day to have the interview. No apology or acknowledgment of error other than to say "this has happened quite a bit over the last 2 years" from the recruitment agent.
The recruiter set up a 2nd interview. The interviewer was flat, stale and aloof. She had a chip on her shoulder the moment the interview began and wanted to make known that she was highly educated with a PhD in her field, which is perfectly acceptable but it felt like an intimidation tactic.
Her questions had a tone of attitude as if she couldn't be bothered to speak with me. There was zero rapport or enthusiasm.
It then took 2.5 weeks (!!!) to receive a response, after chasing it. This shows zero consideration for candidates.
On top of this, I was not given any feedback because it was a contract role.
Perhaps I'm bitter, perhaps I dodged a bullet. I'll never consider Meta again! Waste of time.
