Question 1
Describe a challenge you have recently encountered?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Meta (Austin, TX) in May 2025
Interview
I wanted to share some critical feedback regarding my interaction with the hiring manger. I hope both you and your leadership can take this into consideration.
From the very beginning of our conversation—within the first few seconds—I sensed that something was off. The hiring manager's demeanor came across as disengaged and lacking in authenticity. Her responses felt generic, and she appeared inattentive to the details of my stories and examples. Additionally, there was little acknowledgment of the time we were spending on the conversation, which further contributed to a sense of disconnection.
When I asked whether you (the recruiter) had shared the roadmap I worked on, her response was: "It would be unfair to the other candidates." I found this surprising, as I’ve never encountered that reasoning in any interview throughout my career. As a candidate, I’m not concerned with how others are treated—I’m focused on representing my qualifications for the role.
The hiring manager, reframed my questions in ways that changed their intent. For example, she said things like, “You’re saying this, but this is what you’re asking,” which felt dismissive rather than clarifying. Additionally, she mentioned there were only a few minutes left in the conversation, but there hadn’t been sufficient time allowed for me to ask my questions or to close the conversation properly. At no point was there a clear opportunity for me to present a case for why I would be a strong hire.
Overall, the interaction felt rushed, lacking in empathy, and did not reflect the collaborative or inclusive culture that Meta is known for. I believe the hiring manager could benefit from coaching by a more experienced hiring manager or having someone sit in on future interviews to provide support and feedback.
I’m sharing this to help ensure that the interview process continues to reflect the values and standards expected from both candidates and interviewers.

Question 1
Asked me multiple times about a previous position, not related to the current role. Forced herself to understand how the credit card industry works, after she stated its not her specialty. I clearly articulate the steps, and at the end. "Oh, I just use my other cards."
Interview process was well facilitated, questions were clear and I was given time to think through an analytical and thoughtful response. The interview loop consisted of four different individuals and they were all well prepared.
