I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Microsoft (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2017
Interview
On the day of interviews there were four interviews at the Redmond office back to back, each an hour long. They were all interviewers from the same team, and they were quite thorough and exhausting. All the interviews were half technical and half non-technical questions.

BTW, the whole process was in plain Chinese, but i heard that if you apply for different position, (marketing and other non-technical position), you have to do it in English (give a presentation on stage talking about some specific topic or something)
