I applied through college or university. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Microsoft in Oct 2009
Interview
This was a first round on campus interview that lasted 30 mins. The interviewer was very nice and friendly. The interview structure was as follows: one coding question, one tell me about your current work question, one why do you want to be program manager type of question, and tell me about a technology/software you like/dislike and why. I am yet to hear back from them.

Interview
This was a first round PM interview. It lasted 30 mins. The questions were pretty straightforward and definitely not meant to get you off balance. I was asked why I wanted the PM position, a coding question related to linked listsd, a software improvement question, and a life experience question. All in all, quite chill.

Interview
This was the first interviewing process, it consisted of a classic "tell me why you are interested in position", she told me that I was not prepared enough for program manager but was wishfull to test my technical skills by solving a simple programming problem, i was successful at them; then she tested my testing skills and she said that I was proficient at that; i will go to another interview on late october. She recommended a couple of books and practices to be well prepared.
As i understand they are wishful to have you in their team, but they are strict as most of my partners didn't do well on this interview.
