I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Microsoft (Seattle, WA) in Sep 2017
Interview
Initial phone screen with quick brain teaser question; on site interview scheduled a few weeks later with 4 rounds of standard whiteboard coding questions and a final interview with a project/hiring manager.

Question 1
Fairly typical whiteboard questions ranging from very easy to moderately difficult. Mainly array/string manipulation & recursion
First round, white board. The interviewer asked me to stop talking and just write my code on the white board so I was a little discouraged then. I was recommended to go to final round, but I wasn't actually selected, or something went wrong on their end.
First-round consisted of a very easy test on Codility (3 tasks, 15-20 minutes are far enough to solve them) and quick non-technical interview. After it, I received very quickly negative response with no option to ask about any detailed feedback due to Microsoft's policy.
