I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Miro (Amsterdam) in Mar 2022
Interview
1. Phone Interview with the recruiter
The recruiter was a really nice guy, explained lots of things gave tips and tricks, and also provided documents. And the conversation was smooth.
2. Hackerrank live coding
Average Hackerrank coding question. You're given 1 hour. But 10 minutes of it talking and getting to know each other. 50 min coding.
3. System Design Interview
There is a problem that they ask you to come up with a design.
The interview was the worst System Design interview I've ever had. Supposedly two guys were going to interview me. One didn't show up. And we waited for 10 min for nothing. That created time pressure. The other guy had terrible English that I could barely understand with a lot of office background noise. I can understand that people might not have good communication skills or perfect English; software guys can understand each other up to a certain level, but he didn't even tell me the real problem that I was going to solve. I asked and repeated the sentences in a way that I understood to make sure every single time. Just because of that it was a very uncomfortable interview. There were lots of awkward silences because of communication problems. At some times, I literally didn't understand what the interviewer is trying to say.
And turns out what? I failed the technical interviews. Even though I especially asked for feedback on the technical interview to improve myself for future ones, they just ghosted me.
4. Culture fit interview
- Don't know couldn't pass the tech ones.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
1. Live coding on Hackerrank
- They ask you to use Queue or a similar data structure to solve it. It was a sliding window pattern question.
Slow but transparent. At each stage, it was clear what to expect. Hard process but worth it if you want to this type of company. Be prepared with the classic study material (cracking coding interview, STAR, etc.)
I applied online. I interviewed at Miro (Amsterdam)
Interview
Standard hiring pipeline. Algorithmic question, system design and then project deep dive.
The people I met during the interview were really intelligent and insightful, the recruitment team was subpar.
I would definitely reinterview but am wary of their recruitment team. After having twice experienced poor communication from them.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Miro (Amsterdam) in Oct 2023
Interview
Overall the whole procedure is very clear and the recruiter is supportive. Every interview had a good setup and I was feeling comfortable.
In the end I recieved a notice, that I will get an offer and was informed what that offer is going to be. The only con here is that the process took 1.5 month.
But this is where everything went wrong.
Recruiter disappeared for 2 weeks and then called with bad news, that the role is put down and they hire for it no more. They said, that there is another 2 roles in 2 other teams and I will have one more interview with the team. I thought it's going to be just a formal interview, but the teams said I don't pass technically, which is ridiculous, because I already passed 2 other technical interviews.
Recruiter told me, that I'm going to be a priority as soon as other roles are going to appear. But so far more than 10 roles appear and noone reached me. I tried to apply again and also wrote to recruiter twice and nothing happened. So basically this is a complete chaos of a company and if you don't want to waste your time like this, just avoid it.
