Initial recruiter interview/screener of 30 minutes. The session felt very process-driven, and lacked a bit of humanity. I think that is their recruitment style.
Having interacted with Mironeers many times and at events, I expected a more human-centered process, or a more progressive approach. But it's a bit more rigid that this.
The recruiter told me they typically recruit for a "1 on 1 match" to the job specs, which means they will not fully consider your skillset and how transferable your experiences might be, or the kind of challenges you can solve. They are looking for checklist items. What might this say about how they help their people grow, and how they innovate?
I also asked questions regarding the team shape, and the recruiter was unable to give information about how the team worked. They did not know how cross-disciplinary teams worked, not how cross-discipliunary teams were set up. Considering this was a staff-level position, in an area that is heavily dependent on software engineering and research, it is a red flag. Unless they purposefully held off this information, having already decided whether I was a fit or not.
The whole interview process is as described on their careers site, and they include an interview task which you have 24hrs to complete and have to present
