      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Moody's (London, England) in Mar 2018

      Interview

CV review, SHL tests (fairly easy if you have practiced) then HR telephone interview. I was quite surprised they did not really ask any motivation question. Centred around skills and competencies. Then essay to write within a few days about excellence to evaluate your writing skills followed by an interview with two hiring managers for an hour over the phone. Quite challenging (competency based and technical) but more interesting than HR considering there was an actual discussion with the interviewers. Long waiting time however to get feedback...

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      - Tell me about a time you had to make a difficult decision - Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult colleague - Tell me about a time you failed and how you responded to it - Tell me about a time you helped a colleague and what did you do? - What would you take into account in the financial statements to evaluate a company’s creditworthiness (pick any example from an industry)? - What is the working capital? - Which team would you like to join and why? - How can you explain that a company doesn’t generate profit but generates cash?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Moody's (London, England) in May 2018

      Interview

The online application was easy and straightforward, I believe just the CV and the basic info. It was followed by numerical & verbal tests which were quite difficult. About a week after, I received an HR call, very simple questions and enjoyable interview. Got invited to the final stage phone interview and a short essay to write. I had mixed feelings about the final stage manager phone interview. One of the interviewers was a bit disorganised and asked a few nearly identical questions. All of them very vague (e.g. describe your weaknesses style questions). I also got asked two rather basic questions about the income statement and the connections between the 3 financial statements. Part of the interview was based on my response from the mini-essay. The essay was short and involved the following questions: Excellence within the corporate workplace, how did you show excellence in a professional setting. Overall, it was very broad so, I cannot say what exactly they were looking for in the answers. After the final interview, it took more than a month for their response. Even after following up with them, no response. Note that this was in early May and people have/start receiving offers from other places. In the meantime, I accepted another offer. Overall, a positive interview experience that happens entirely over the phone. The only critique is really the response times for notifying unsuccessful candidates. Would need a lot of improvement on the HR side.
