      Intern Interview

      Apr 8, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Moody's in Mar 2022

      Interview

      - First call with HR based in London - First interview with 2 managers - Some update calls with the same HR - Offer - Adjustment request about the salary from my end - Another offer After a first call with HR, I was invited for an interview with 2 managers. Pitch presentation of myself, brief introduction of the department and job description by Moody's end. Several technical questions about the field. Since there was no full-time opportunity which is in the same field as the internship, I had applied for it with 2 years of experience. Given that, They tried to assess my previous experience with very technical questions, which helped me to show my knowledge. Two managers that I have interviewed were very knowledgable and so kind after seeing that I deserved largely the internship. They asked me for my short term career plan and the link between Moody's Analytics, which I think was the good fit with the company. They told me that HR was going to contact me in the following week. But I was contacted the following day for closing the position as they were willing to get me in. In that point, Their offer was nothing more than a joke. Even less than a minimum wage for an internship based in PARIS. This is for a foreign student who doesn't have a family living in Paris or somewhere close. The only thing that I could tell in the following call with HR is to ask him for a little adjustment on the remuneration and if it was possible to do my internship remotely. Because during my interview, they had mentioned that it would be possible. After 1 month of silence from Moody's end just for getting "final approvals" for the internship to be done virtually, I could hardly get an update after asking nth time, HR offered me a remuneration LESS than the first one by saying that it was for Paris not for remotely. Their mis en scene kept me laughing. Moody's Analytics is a very big name in the risk analytics domain and could be a real plus on the CV. I don't think that the recruitment process happens like that for real job positions. But in my experience, I realized that they did not really need interns to engage them in serious tasks. For me it was a waste of time. What I can recommend you, please verify from the very beginning all the details before wasting your precious time for nothing in the end. They can state multiple locations in the job description, walk through them carefully because even HR is confused about in which location the internship will be done. Talk about the importance of the internship for the company as well which is the key factor for converting your end of studies internship into the full-time job. No more thing about the remuneration.

It was okay. not much to say. Weird interview questions. Employees seem competitive even with an intern. Asked me what functions i knew on excel which was strange considering the role.

Colloquio con HR tranquillo. Domande di rito, presentazione, expected values e obiettivi. In seguito domande più tecniche su esperienza con rating, metodologie ESG e analisi finanziaria. Nel complesso gradevole e professionale
