Moody's Software Engineer interview questions

I had a first interview with the engineer manager. Then I was asked to do a take home test, and develop a small app. I spent a few days on it, adding tests and extras. I got very good feedback. We then had a technical/culture fit interview, which went great. After that, I never heard back from them. Absolutely nothing.

Recruiter only phone screen so far. That experience was very frustrating to potentially unprofessional. Applied to a position and got a reach out from a recruiter for quick phone screen. Gave my availability and said if does not work give time window on certain days. Response was a request for a day I said I could not do. We settled on a time (one that did not meet the window I gave but I agreed). Two times during the call exchanges the recruiter kept saying they could not hear me. The last time I called back I felt there was a chance they were messing with me. Reality was my resume showed I had many years experience and they then gave a salary (not really a range) I said up front may not be acceptable. They would not define the full benefits which I said could make up for any base salary shortfall and my guess is that second time they felt I would not go for the range. It is fine if I am not a match however as much as you expect the person you are screening to answer your questions you need to give response to qualifying questions. Also some of the skillset questions were clearly on my resume that I had experience with the technologies yet the question was asked. It gave me the impression that the recruiter did not want to really read my resume. I followed up with an email as the person just said I cannot hear you and hung up on the last call. No response to my email. I know my abilities, years of experience and self worth. I'm fine if you feel I'm not a match or just overqualified and not a match for that position. I've had other companies even say you qualify for this other higher level position which aligns better on salary. I offered up that feedback and the recruiter had no response on that even when I kept requesting salary range on this position. Some companies I'm moving forward with even said when you interview for this level you are considered also for the level above and the level below in the interview. In these screens the candidate makes an impression but each person representing the company makes an impression on the candidate as they represent the culture even. I was not impressed and that is okay. They have existed without me for all these years and they will continue to exist. I believe even if I said sure I'll take a massive pay cut and love the idea of the job, this recruiter will not respond. I believe, for whatever reason. I am ghosted. Does it surprise me when they could not respect my availability, no. Does that mean it is not a match in some criteria, yes. Just remember you are making an impression as much as the candidate is making an impression.
