However, through various rounds of interviews and assignments (multiple phone interviews, assignments, assignment presentation, onsite interviews), the rejection came in the form of a cold email.
Mulesoft could at least have the consideration for a phone call to reject a candidate that has taken time off to go through through several rounds of the interview process. It does also make me wonder if they were just trying to get free solicitation and advice...

100% First Class, phone screen, F2F and then Regional sequence of interviews and Presentation to panel. Make sure your audience is familiar with the setup for the presentation. Make sure you know what the audience is listening for. It's only 20 min so don't overthink it or try to fit to much into that time.
