I applied through other source. I interviewed at MuleSoft in Sep 2017
Interview
A well run interview process. The 2nd round interviews which include a presentation and a demo on the Mulesoft platform were challenging but well structured with a good script scenario for this phase of interview
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Give an example of what you consider your most challenging client situation and how you managed it
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at MuleSoft (Remote, OR)
Interview
First Recruiter called and was very good in sharing information on Mulesoft and Job Description. Then Regional Services Director called for phone screen. All he asked was speak about your work and what attracts you to Mule soft . I personally feel i have done good job in explaining this. Then i didn't hear from Recruiter for a week and was curiously waiting for technical rounds. Then after follow up with them email comes saying not fit for this role.
This is very disheartening and i feel simple these guys wasted time of a candidate.
I have heard this from couple of other people too who applied for Mule-soft.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at MuleSoft (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
I applied online and within a week there was a call from a recruiter which went very well. Next was with a manager, and again went very well (at least to my impression). Then I got an email from the recruiter saying they are aren't proceeding at this time with me. I was speechless as I fit the role to a 'T', what is wrong? Not sure, I tried to reach out to the recruiter for some feedback but was ignored.
While Mulesoft seems to be a great company with a great product, nothing should warrant them to treat candidates that poorly, and if a role fits a candidate then you turn him/her down for no reason, this will make that particular candidate shut the door on you moving forward as no one can fix something they have no idea what it is.
I would also like to remind Mulesoft with Microsoft in the late 90's and no matter how big & strong you are, what goes around... always comes around.
I'm sorry you didn't feel you got adequate feedback on why the role wasn't a fit. I'd be more than happy to speak with you further on this and answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to email me directly. Thank you for taking the time to interview!
