I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Baltimore, MD) in Jan 2009
Interview
Applied through an undergraduate on-campus interview process. I was selected for a 30 minute screening interview with a hiring manager to assess my interests and typical behavioral interview questions were asked. After passing the initial screening, there was a two-day interview process at a hotel with a casual dress code. The first day was a company presentation by HR and a dinner with employees ranging from 2-5 years of experience. The second day was half corporate-campus tour and half interviews. The campus tour was a good way to meet fellow applicants. The interviews were 4 1-on-1 interviews with a mix of senior level engineers and program managers from different groups in the company. At the end of the interviews there was a panel of recent hires to answer any additional questions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The interview process was laid back and mostly geared towards assessing my personality and fit within the company, so most of the questions were repeats from other corporate engineering interviews. Describe your approach to solving problems and then describe how you implemented the process on a particular project in either work or school.

Interview
Technical questions and behavioral questions (STAR formatting) with the normal what draws you to work for us. Microsoft Teams meeting with a panel to review answers. Took roughly 1 hour and it was a very straightforward and easily made process.
Formal, not too stressful. Ensures you understand the basics and thay you know what you're talking about as you may be getting interviewed by somebody that's technical at some point.
The interview process was fairly straightforward; I have applied in March 2026 and got an interview in April 2026. It was a video interview on Teams with two other team members, just under an hour.
