The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman in Jul 2009
Interview
The interview was organized but very friendly. Since I'm from the area, there was quite a bit of smalltalk about the part of town I live in and my rehab of an old Victorian home I bought in a historic district. Other than that, the interview style was fairly laid-back, asking questions about the types of projects I had worked on at my previous company and how, specifically, I used some of my IT skills. They also asked some very specific questions about my knowledge of database theory -- describe the various types of joins, for instance.

Question 1
Describe an outer left join (Oracle database question).
I applied online through the Northrop Grumman careers site in mid-January. A recruiter reached out within 5 days for a quick 15-minute phone screen to confirm my experience and interest in defense work. They scheduled a 60-minute panel interview with my hiring manager and two senior software engineers the following week.
