I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (El Segundo, CA) in Apr 2008
Interview
I went in and first met with my manager. He was pretty shy person and asked only a few questions about past experiences. Very few or none of the questions were those "typical questions" you'd find on the internet, and not challenging to answer. No technical questions. I asked most of the questions. I was introduced acquainted with another manager that will be in charge of the interns, and took a tour of the facilities where I might be working. I got the feeling I'd be hired for sure at the interview. Then met with HR and did some questions and instructions of how process will be. Total time was around 3 hrs. I cannot say that most interns can expect this easy, since my group was pretty specialized group that was looking to expand and had extra funding.

Question 1
No difficult questions were asked. Mostly small talk. Cannot say that this will apply to most candidates unless you get the same manager as me.

The interview process was professional and well-structured. Interviewers asked thoughtful technical and behavioral questions and clearly explained the role, team responsibilities, and how the position contributes to Northrop Grumman’s mission.
