I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Huntsville, AL)
Interview
They conducted one phone interview which was a conference call between me, my future supervisor, my recruiter, and another employee. They asked certain behavioral questions, like what my biggest accomplishment was, what my biggest weakness is, etc. They asked simple questions about whether or not I knew certain languages or platforms. I was not asked to code anything.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Herndon, VA)
Interview
Had a bried phone screen with the recruiting manager, then an in person interview was set-up with the Dept Manager, then two more interviews (on separate occasions) with the HR Director and the HR VP. All interviews were no longer then 20 minutes.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No difficult questions were asked. Most of the questions were based on your experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Northrop Grumman (Baltimore, MD) in Jun 2011
Interview
It was not so bad, but you can be sure to find people to want to prove you wrong rather than encourage a constructive discussion on how your skills and experiences would contribute to their work. Other panelists can be very positive, warm and level headed. All in all, prepare adequately for any interview like your life depends on it!
