Maybe it's just me, but taking 5 weeks to complete 1 phone screening with a recruiter + having 3 follow-up interviews seems like altogether too much to vet a potential employee for a job position. I enjoyed speaking to everyone who I interacted with at Nuance for all 4 of the calls/chats I was asked to participate in as a candidate for this communications job role, but I didn't appreciate how in the end I heard back that the hiring manager chose another candidate because this other person had experience I do not have that would be "critical to success in this role." OK. Well. Nowhere on my resume does it state I have that form of experience, not even a whiff of a hint of it, so wouldn't that make it clear after merely glancing at my resume or at least after 1 screening phone call and certainly before the THIRD video interview that I don't have the experience that would be "critical" to my success in this role? Why did they even bother with all those phone calls and video interviews with me? Just felt like I was taken for a ride. Again, everyone I spoke to was pleasant and engaging, and I'm sure they have rigid protocols with their hiring process (especially being a Microsoft company), but it took way too long and was way too involved for my liking.
