      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Oracle (Minneapolis, MN) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Multiple in-person interviews with the direct manager, as well as the VP of the group. Met with both of them on the same day, as well as spending a team with the existing sales team.

      Question 1

The direct sales manager I notice in your previous positions, there weren't numbers tied to your sales role. In this role at Oracle, your success is heavily tied towards your number. How do you think you will handle that?

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Oracle (Charlotte, NC) in Dec 2021

      Interview

I went through a series of over-the-phone interviews. The first was through a recruiter, and then another was with the potential boss for the position. Then I had to do a few zoom interviews with others in the same senior position. The final interview was a presentation in front of the sales director and potential boss. The last interview was a mock call for a prospective client.

      Question 1

How would you address a prospective client if they are talking with competitors?

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Oracle

      Interview

Was contacted directly by the hiring manager for an initial phone call. Immediately, I was thrown off, as he spent the first few minutes explaining his displeasure about his daughter’s decision to move to be with her boyfriend. Not sure how that was relevant, and not sure that conversation would have happened with a male candidate. He asked a few cursory questions, explained he had “10 other candidates” banging on his door and that he would be deciding his rankings the following week. Ultimately, I was unimpressed, and wrote him a note thanking him for the time, but professionally removing myself from the process. He emailed a week later to tell me had better candidates.
