I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Panasonic (Lake Forest, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
Phone Interview: Engineer A + Manager A (Manager A 30mins late)
In-Person Interview 1: Scheduled to meet with 6 staff members (2 Managers, 4 Engineers). Waited 25 minutes in the lobby before HR guy comes over***. Mix-up: he's forgot to put in people's calendars. Get a factory tour with Engineer A. Manager A has no time to talk. Manager B and Engineers C, D, E will "have to be another time".
In-Person Interview 2: Good interview with Engineer B. Lots of good behavioral questions. Written technical test (ace it). Practical lab instrument test (ace it).
In Person Interview 3: Get an interview with Manager B. Apparently I'm the guy they want. Get verbal offer from HR same day. HR goes away to see if they can $3-5k more (meet half way to present/current salary).
Wait 1 day...
Wait another half day...
Call HR and they say: didn't you get the message we withdrew the offer. Checked: No email. No email in spam. No voicemail, No missed call. Apparently you're missing a skill, so they want to drop the offer $50k. WTF, so what about the verbal offer? No longer applies. So what about the title? Same, MTS V. So what do you normally pay MTS V? What we originally offered. But you're offering $50k less? Uh huh, yeah didn't think it worth your while.
Summary: Very unprofessional outfit. Not good on their word. Seemed disorganized from the start.
*** I have a friend at Thales (competitor) - apparently Panasonic's own customers complain about being left in the lobby.
