Interview
I'm a senior DS at my current company. The HR took my profile from naukri and scheduled the interview after initial screening. The screening was general questions, asked about my day to day tasks etc. Then she asked me about my salary expectations, i told her i'm expecting a general hike around 35%. She proceeded to ask me "what is the minimum cutoff for you, if you go below this, i will not join". This was really a wierd question.
They scheduled an interview after 10 days. They asked me nothing related to data science. It was scheduled with a data science manager who only knows SQL and she kept asking me advanced sql queries orally by showing data on excel. I asked her what position are they really interviewing her, she told me she is not the hiring manager and it was for a team who works majorly on forecasting models which she asked if i worked on and I had no experience on time series models.
She said they are really looking for someone who has some experience on timeseries models. All this time could have been saved if they checked my resume in the first place. Also, she said they have a 3 day work from office mandate.
