I applied through other source. I interviewed at Primark (Reading, England)
Interview
Actually atrocious. I've never felt the need to write a negative review about any companies I've interviewed with but this was different. For a number of reasons, but primarily 3;
- the interviewer collected me from reception 45 minutes later than my interview was due to start. I had to keep asking the receptionist what was happening because nobody bothered to tell me or had even clocked I was still waiting. I really wish I had listened to my instincts and just left then
- whilst I was sat in reception waiting for the interviewer, a member of the recruitment team came to sit on the sofa next to me to take feedback from a hiring manager about another candidate. So not only was I not having my own interview, I was now hearing the warts and all feedback on another candidate. In the middle of reception. Great that privacy is valued here. Oh, it's not.
- when the interviewer finally collected me, there was no real apology and I was taken to a room and for well over an hour was talked at...and I genuinely mean this, hand on heart, I was not asked one single interview question. I learned nothing from the 'meeting' and even my questions were rebuffed quite flippantly as if it was all a really funny anecdote. What is this place?
I would actually go out of my way to warn people off applying and 'interviewing' with Primark. And before you ask, no this is not a review from an aggrieved rejected candidate, I wouldn't have progressed even if they'd offered me a six figure salary (which also they wouldn't, because their packages are well below their competitors as I found out subsequently).

Question 1
Literally nothing asked! It was a pointless 'chat'
