I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Primark (London, England)
Interview
I was interviewed by the store manager which was originally for a summer temp job, but then she asked if I was interested in a permanent job 3 days a week. She asked me a lot of questions about the hours I could do. Additionally, other questions she asked were: name a time you have worked in a team, and what would you do if a team member wasn't helping. Rank these 3 scenarios in order of most importance: a customer is asking for help, there's clothes on the floor, your manager has asked you to work on a particular department. Another question was: a customer comes into store asking about a particular dress in the window but you know it is or of stock. What do you do? Another question was: a customer wants to try on an outfit in the fitting rooms but doesn't want to wait in the long queue. What could you suggest to her. The store manager also asked me what I knew about primark, and why I wanted to work there. The interview lasted around 30 minutes and I was called for an induction which was held 2 days later. Before the induction, I was sent 2 emails saying that j had to complete a health and safety certificate and also login details for the primark staff website called 'myworkday'. When I went for the induction, there were about 12 other people. The induction lasted from 9-6pm, which is all paid for. You get 1 hour lunch break and two 15 minute breaks in between. The induction consisted of us doing ice breaker activities and watching a video to see what good and bad customer service was. We also filled out loads of forms and ordered our uniforms. The number of t-shirts you can order depends on the number of days you're contracted to work, e.g I'm contracted for 3 days so I'll get 3 t-shirts. At the end of the induction we were taken to the shop floor where we did a bit of till training. We also got told what department we'd be working on, e.g tills, women's wear, men's wear etc.

I applied in-person. I interviewed at Primark (Exeter, England)
Interview
From the start the woman interviewing me took a dislike to me, she barely cracked a smile or showed any empathy when I spoke to her. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Did not get a job offer despite trying to please her constantly by smiling/ answering everything politely. She tried to make me second guess my answers by asking 'Anything else?' in a rude tone after every answer. Awful experience.
