The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Qualcomm (San Diego, CA) in Apr 2008
Interview
The hiring manager gone through a 45 minute technical interview. They try to understand your background, work experience, and finally technical question in your area. After a successful phone interview, they flew me for onsite interview, where you meet with different engineer. the schedule was tight, and they only have time to ask 30-45minutes. The interview was very technical, going over aspect of firmware development, debugging, implementing c code, and some problem solving question. The problem solving questions are easy if you are just out of school, but it would be difficult for old-timer because you have to remember geometry/Trigometry.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Qualcomm (Irvine, CA) in May 2007
Interview
The interview started with a phone interview one day before. And then, there is an on-site interview for the next day. The managers are very friendly to me. We had brief lunch together talking about the general available projects at Atheros and followed by four 1:1 interviews. The interviews were to test my basic understanding as well as practical skills about integrated circuit designs. The questions are very reasonable and well-designed. The interviewers are very sharp but nice and friendly.
