I applied in-person. I interviewed at RTX (Hartford, CT) in Jan 2020
Interview
The process was very brief and easy. I simply discussed my past experiences as a college student and how they helped me to get where I'm at today. The questions were very basic and did not include any of the typical questions.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at RTX (New York, NY) in Oct 2020
Interview
Originally contacted by HR. Then a zoom interview was set up. Panel had 3 people on it.
Overall, the interview process was pretty straightforward and easy. Mostly questions about how you handled past situations and how you would handle having partial data, i.e. when to make a decision with what you have.
Ended very positive. Two days later, received a phone call from the HR rep telling me how well I did, and that I'd know in about 2 weeks, after they finish interviews.
That would be the last communication I'd receive (approx 6 weeks have gone by). No update in their system. No response to email. Ghosted. I don't have any knocks on my background check.
I'm not sure if they filled the position or if the layoffs corporate wide eliminated it. In either case, I am completely shocked to have been Ghosted like this. Completely unprofessional. Everything else was completely professional and above board, as you'd expect with a large defense contractor.
