I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at RTX
Interview
Applied through a friend working in the company. Got an interesting phone interview and invited for onsite. Go through 6 1:1 interview, almost all of them didn't prepare for the interview and didn't know what to ask. Some of them even said "Do I have to interview you today? Wait, let me print your resume!"
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RTX (Tucson, AZ) in Nov 2012
Interview
Flew out to the Missile Systems location in Tucson, AZ with about 160 other potential candidates in a hiring event. They had booths set up interview day to interview all candidates for many different positions of all major types.
Well, before that I had a phone interview where the hiring manager himself called me to discuss my projects/ resume. He said it sounded relevant and invited me out to the hiring event.
Interview went pretty well, just basically asked me about my resume again ( I spoke to many other candidates and they all said they had the same experience ). They also asked me if I had any experience in RF. I didn't have any experience, but I figured they liked my resume enough to interview me for that position
