The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Salesforce in Mar 2016
Interview
I got an interview through an employee referral, and had a phone screen interview. Two people interviewed me -- one manager, one employee. I was not ready for this, so definitely study data structures and coding algorithms. When the first person interviewed me, I felt the person was not too impressed with me; by the time the second person was interviewing me, the person asked the same question and not too proactive in conversation. I understand, because I think they decided on someone else.

I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2017
Interview
I met the recruiter at a job/career fair at university. A few weeks later, I received an email offering me a phone interview. The phone interview was with an engineer, and consisted of mostly technical questions. It lasted about an hour. About a week after the phone interview, I was invited to an onsite interview.
The onsite interview consisted of two 1-1 interviews with engineers. Both interviews mostly consisted of talking about the company and my resume, but included a few technical questions. I was allowed to use a whiteboard for these questions. About a week later I was offered an internship.

Interview
The company reached out to my student organization and invited us for a tour of the facility and to their Dreamforce conference. A 2-3 weeks later they reached out to us for phone interviews. The phone interview was 30 minutes and was meant to be a technical interview although the interviewer didnt get around to asking any coding questions.
