I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Snap (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2021
Interview
First there was a phone screening with one Engineer where I was asked one medium and one hard question.
After that, I was invited to the onsite. There was 1 behavioral and 4 technical rounds. I didn't hear back from any recruiter after the onsite at all. I followed up with them for a month, no response at all. I dont even know if I cracked the interview or not. The recruiters don't value your time and don't even have the slightest care about the candidate's time. I will never ever interview with Snap again. Such a bad experience with the recruiters at Snap. I don't understand how a company like Snap can be so unprofessional and just ghost the candidates after they spent months preparing and also spends hours interviewing with them.
Hard but interesting. Had to go through 1 HM round, 2 coding rounds and 2 systems design rounds. Coding round was hit counter, and message recommendation system. The System design rounds were a bit challenging.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Design a recommendation system for messaging to predict the next word while typing
For the technical rounds, I was asked leetcode style questions. Need to practice Data structures and algorithms in order to do well on the interviews. It's important to explain the code as you go along and clarfiy any questions with the interviewer.
Interviewer is not good, has an accent and doesn’t point you in the right direction. Did not seem to be on your side the whole time. It was not a very nice experience.
