I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at TP (Killeen, TX) in Jun 2018
Interview
I applied online on indeed and was contacted a few days after via text message by one of the recruiters to come in for an interview. Considering how many steps there are in the hiring process, it went by rather quickly . First you sign in and are placed in a waiting area. Someone will call you up to take an assessment that’s ridiculously easy . Basically just to see if you know the basic functions of a computer . Then you take a typing test in which you must get a 25 WPM score (also very easy). They also have you fill out a detailed application because the one they give you on indeed just has you answer a few questions and send your resume.
After that you’re placed back into the holding area to be called for your 1st interview. This interview is pretty much a pre screening interview to see if you’re fit for the job and you’re availability is open . (you MUST have open availability for this job) . If all is well you’ll pass the first interview and , you will be assigned your company , Then you’re placed back into the holding area again to be called for a 2nd interview by your actual company . Some 2nd interviews are not same day & may be scheduled for a different time
This interview is much more detailed and catered to whatever company you’re assigned to. Here they do the typical interview questions . (ie how would you handle an upset customer, what’s a good reason to call off of work etc.) once that is done you get sent back to the holding area (sounds tedious, i know) .
The front desk clerk will call you up and let you know that same day whether or not you’ll be offered a position. If given a job you will be sent to your final destination which is the onboarding area. Here you do all your admin work. Proof of ID, background check, schedule , pay rate , training dates , etc. Depending on the company
your assigned to, the pay will vary in between $9-12 an hour . Scheduling also depends on your company which is why they want open availability because you don’t get to choose where you will be working . Some companies have a variety of schedules and let you choose which one one would suit best for you . Fortunately i my company offered this . You will also be given a drug test depending on your company . I was not given one but the girls next to me were. Once all your admin work is done you’re finally done for the day and will meet back again for your training .
Although this seems like a lot , my process felt like it was fairly quick . I was in and out under 3 hours , and that’s with some lengthy waiting periods in the holding area.
