I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Washington, DC) in Nov 2018
Interview
The interview process was very smooth. My first interview was a phone interview with the recruiter, who asked me some basics about my job history, what I’m looking for, etc, and she went over salary and benefits. Then, she scheduled me for a phone interview with a deal desk manager (wasn’t the person who turned out to be my actual manager, as he was out of office). She asked me questions relating to how I work. Finally, I was scheduled for an in-office interview. This took 3 hours and did involve an excel test, but it was only a few questions and I was given notice beforehand, so I refreshed my excel skills before I went in. I interviewed with the senior manager, two of my team members, and then finally my manager, who asked basic job history questions, as well as questions relating to my general work style. It went very well and I had a great first impression of the office and the team. Wonderful interview process, and I accepted the job!
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Tableau Software (Washington, DC)
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn and that kicked off the process. Had a few phone interviews before coming onsite. I had 5 half hour interviews with various employees in the department, and also had a brief skills test. I then had another phone interview with a director, prior to getting an offer.
Overall it was a great experience, the interview process was more about a personality fit than anything (unsurprisingly the sales/operations interviews seem to be much different than engineering).
